The Coliseum (72 d.C) emblem of the city with its vast archeological area which includes the Arch of Costantine and the Imperial Forums, Piazza Venezia and the Vittoriano.


Via della Conciliazione to admire the grandeur of St Peter’s Square and the magnificence of the Vatican. You will see the beautiful Spanish Steps, site of numerous popular manifestations and the setting for many famous films, Piazza Navona, the 18th century Trevi Fountains and the Pantheon. Assisi, the city of the Patron Saint of Italy, Saint Francis (1181-1226). The Basilica, dedicated to Saint Francisand and is decorated with frescoes by Cimabue and Giotto. It was unfortunately badly damaged by the earthquake in 1998, but subsequently restored to its original beauty.

Its medieval art masterpieces, such as the Basilica of San Francesco and paintings by Cimabue, Pietro Lorenzetti, Simone Martini and Giotto, have made Assisi a fundamental reference point for the development of Italian and European art and architecture.



ORVIETO & BAGNOREGIO

Orvieto is an ancient city of Etruscan origin that dominates the valley of the river Paglia from the top of the tuff cliff on which it stands. A beautiful place to visit with a unique history dating back to million years ago. We take a stroll around Orvieto old town, and visit the majestic Cattedrale of Santa Maria Assunta, best known as the “Duomo”, a magnificent masterpiece of Gothic and Romanesque architecture, one of the most important in Europe. Another symbol of the city itself, steps from a breathtaking belvedere, is St. Patrick’s Well, a spectacular engineering work of the 16th century which you can even climb!
- Then we explore Orvieto wine country, learn about its culture, view stunning scenery and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local winery.
- After lunch we enjoy an incomparable view at the sight of Civita di Bagnoregio, known as “the dying city”, an enchanting village dating back to 2500 years ago, birthplace of St. Bonaventure.
